How can you change User Account Control settings in windows 7?

User Account Control (UAC) is a feature of Windows 7 which ensures that unauthorized changes will not take place without proper administrative rights. However, even though it is not recommended, administrators prefer to change this setting when they are performing tasks on a Windows 7 PC.

In order to change UAC Settings:

  1. Click on the Start Button, Control panel and then User Accounts and Family Safety (Click User Accounts if you are connected to a domain) and then click User Accounts.

  2. Click Change User Account Control settings

  3. Select the level of notification and click OK

In the past, you could have only one password policy per domain - for example, one rule for minimum password length, for expiration, or for complexity. In Windows Server 2008, you can set more - or less-strict rules for different groups to as granular a degree as you want. Create a few for maximum flexibility.

How can you make it easier for users to find Shared Resources ?

  2. On the Publish tab, select the Publish This Share In Active Directory check box, add an optional description and owner information, and then click OK.
