Microsoft Office Specialist: Expert (Office 365 and Office 2019)

The Microsoft Office Specialist Program now has multiple levels which are Associate and Expert. Students earn a certification for each exam they pass, and if a student earns any 3 of the 4 available associate certifications they become a Microsoft Office Specialist Associate which in turn earns them an additional certification for their accomplishment. To become a Microsoft Office Specialist Expert the student has to pass 2 of the 3 available expert certifications. Please note that Microsoft Office Specialist Expert certification is in place of the Microsoft Office Master credential which applies to Office 2013 and 2016.
Microsoft Office 365 and 2019 Certification Levels
- Microsoft Office Associate (1 exam) – Establishes that a person can handle all basic everyday tasks. Tests are available at this level in Word® Associate, Excel® Associate, PowerPoint® Associate and Outlook® Associate.
- Microsoft Office Associate (Full, 3 exams) – To gain the full associate certification, 3 exams need to be passed from any of the following: Word® Associate, Excel® Associate, PowerPoint® Associate or Outlook® Associate.
- Microsoft Office Specialist Expert – This is the highest level of certification and establishes that a person can use all the main Microsoft Office applications to an advanced level. To become a Microsoft Office Expert the individual must pass 5 exams: 3 from any of the Associate exams listed above and 2 from any of the following, Word® Expert, Excel® Expert or Access® Expert.
